Malton Monthly Food Market - Saturday 12th June 2021
About event
Yorkshire's most renowned food market!
Every second Saturday of the month from March to November, Malton Monthly Food Market returns with 35-45 specialist food stalls
Popular with all those who care about where their food is sourced, the market is loved by foodie visitors, chefs and keen amateur cooks alike
Set against the magnificent backdrop of St Michael's church in Malton's central Market Place, the market trades from 9am to 3pm
Free entry and 2 hours free parking for visitors
Please note, during the Covid hit 2020 season the number of traders was limited to allow for social distancing. The market also operated a one-way system via a controlled entry point where visitors were clicked in and clicked out to ensure visitor numbers didn't exceed the capacity. During periods of lockdown the market was restricted to food and drink producers only. Our visitor numbers remained fairly constant but were at the lower end of our usual average (2000-2500 rather than 2000-5000). We anticipate the market will begin the 2021 season with the same restrictions in place but as soon as the restrictions are lifted we will return the market to it's former mode of operation with a range of non-food/craft traders and street food traders.

Street food Pitches (Min 4* Food Hygiene Rating required - 5* preferred)
Our definition of Street food is any food or drink that is sold with the intention of it being consumed immediately.
We have four options for Street food pitches:
- Hot food
- Coffee & Hot Drinks
- Ice cream & Cold Desserts
- Vegan & Vegetarian Specialists
We operate a commission scheme with our street food partners whereby we receive 20% of your takings.
When you apply for a street food pitch you will be presented with a DEPOSIT invoice.
At the end of each trading period you are required to give us your trading figures (preferably a Z report from your till) we will then calculate your 20% commission and reduce the total by the deposit you have paid.
If the sum total is more than your deposit then we will send you an additional invoice. if your sum total is lower than your deposit there will be no further payment due. The deposit is effectively the minimum you will pay for your pitch, no refunds will be issued.
To reduce landfill, we require all our street food traders to serve using re-usable, recyclable or biodegradable products. No single use plastics are permitted
