Yorkshire's most renowned food market!

Held every second Saturday of the month from March to December, Malton Monthly Food Market usually features 35-45 specialist food stalls and street food vendors. However, due to social distancing requirements the market is being held outdoors with a socially distanced one-way system and as such there is only room for circa 24 pitches.

The market is popular with all those who care about where their food is sourced, the market is loved by foodie visitors, chefs and keen amateur cooks alike. Under normal circumstances we expect to see between 2000 and 5000 visitors. The market did not take place in April, May or June - when it returned in July we had a little over 2000 visitors but the number is expected to grow as consumer confidence returns.

Set against the magnificent backdrop of St Michael's Church in the Market Place, the market trades from 9am to 3pm

The market is free to enter and there is 2 hours free parking for visitors

Market Traders

We offer two types of pitches for market traders:

  1. Outdoor gazebo pitches come with  a 3m x 3m gazebo and an 8ft trestle table provided by us
  2. Outdoor open space pitches are for your own 3m x 3m gazebo/trailer
  • Electricity and additional trestle tables can be ordered separately (see 'Extras' below)

Alcohol vendors (off-sales)

We offer two types of pitches for Off-sales vendors:

  1. Outdoor gazebo pitches come with a 3m x 3m gazebo and an 8ft trestle table provided by us

  2. Outdoor open space pitches are for your own 3m x 3m gazebo/trailer
  • Electricity and additional trestle tables can be ordered separately (see 'Extras' below)
  • Alcohol sales are covered by our own license so there is no need for you to apply for a TENS. You will need your own personal license and you will have to comply with our Challenge 25 policy.

What happens next?

Your application will be assessed by the Visit Malton Team. You will receive an automated email from Event Owl acknowledging receipt of your application (if this email does not appear, please check your spam filter)

If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email via Event Owl and your payment will be processed.

Please note - although you are required to submit your payment card details with your application, your payment will not actually be processed until your application has been approved. 

You need to make sure that the details on this form are correct. You will not be able to make any changes to this form once it has been submitted.

Gazebo walls will be issued to close the block of pitches overnight (we have security on duty but the safety of any stock or valuables is entirely your own responsibility).

Vendor to supply own cloths/skirt for stand.

Electric and additional trestle tables can be hired separately.

These pitches are for vendors selling alcohol in sealed containers for home consumption (Off-Sales)

Alcohol sales are covered by our own premises license so there is no need for you to apply for a TENS. You will need your own personal license and you will have to comply with our Challenge 25 policy.

We will provide you with a 3m x 3m gazebo and an 8ft trestle table.
