Shire Horse Society National Show
The Shire Horse Society is the only charity dedicated to the protection, promotion and improvement of the Shire Horse. Since 1878 the Shire Horse Society has been working to protect the breed, that was then known as the Old English Breed of Cart Horse. Over the years the Society has worked hard to ensure that the breed continues to grow and to maintain interest in these magnificent horses. Shire Horses used today for riding, dressage, shows, carriage driving, the brewing and logging industry, tv and film, demonstration shows and agricultural ploughing.
Traders include renowned clothing retailers, horse feeds and other specialist equine suppliers, food, drink, arts, crafts, gifts are sought. Our demographic are those who have a passion for horses and nostalgic memories of the working horse. All age groups visit our event.
