The ever popular Bakewell Food Festival is back for 2026!  

Bakewell will become a food lovers paradise once again on the 25th and 26th of April 2026. 10am to 5pm both days.

Held in a beautiful riverside market town in the heart of the peak district, Bakewell provides the perfect backdrop for this celebration of culinary delights. Showcasing a wide selection of local and regional produce, the Bakewell food festival not only celebrates the culinary heritage of the region but also the wonderful community spirit and appreciation for local farmers, producers and artisans. Whether your a dedicated foodie or just looking for a fun family day out there is something for all ages to enjoy.

Market/­Craft/­Food Producer (Including Alcohol off-sales - NOT Street Food or Bars)

We offer various types of pitches for market/­craft/­food producers:

Option 1 - 3m x 3m gazebo pitch (own gazebo required). For larger gazebo pitches please add more quantities.
Option 2 - 4.5m x 3m gazebo pitch (own gazebo required). For larger gazebo pitches please add more quantities.
Option 3 - Market stall supplied by Dowse Events (approximately 9ft) *
*Stalls are supplied without a cover unless added in the extras section. 

Please note, all traders selling alcohol must have a TENs License. You must acquire your own TENS for this event. It is your responsibility to do this in time,  You must be over 18 years of age to sell alcohol and be the holder of a Personal License. You must agree to operate a 'Challenge 25' policy. All drinks must be sold in sealed containers, intended for home consumption. Small samples may be given out but must be dispensed in a sustainable/­biodegradable cup (no single use plastics are permitted)

Street Food Traders (Traders selling food for consumption on site)

Our definition of Street Food is any food or drink that is sold for immediate consumption (i.e. not sold in sealed packages intended for consumption at home).

Option 6 - 3m x 3m Street Food pitch (own trailer/gazebo required). For larger pitches please add more quantities.
Option 7 - 4.5m x 3m Street Food pitch (own trailer/gazebo required). For larger pitches please add more quantities.

To reduce landfill, we require all our street food traders to serve using reusable, recyclable or biodegradable products (No single use plastics or polystyrene are permitted) and a bin must be provided outside their stall for customers to dispose of rubbish. 

Charity Stalls (Registered Charities only)

Option 8 - 3m x 3m gazebo (own gazebo required)
Option 9 - Market stall supplied by Dowse Events (approximately 9ft) *
*Stalls are supplied without a cover/roof unless added in the extras section.

We have a limited number of Charity pitches available, you must be a registered charity and provide documentation to prove this. 

Other useful information:

Parking is extremely limited within Bakewell town centre, no vehicle's under any circumstances are permitted to stay on site, Market traders can purchase parking permits in the extras section. You will not be given a parking space with out this permit and will have to park in one of the local car parks which are more expensive. 

You need to register with Event Owl to store your details and process your application - there is not a paper application form.

We do not provide electricity to any stalls.

All rubbish must be taken away with you. It is not permitted for you to dispose of your rubbish in any of the public bins. If we find you doing this we will invoice you for the disposal of your rubbish & you wont be considered for future events.

What happens next?

Your application will be assessed by the Dowse Events team and you will receive an automatic email from Event Owl to confirm your application has been received. If you do not receive your email straight away please check your spam filter.

If your application is approved, you will receive a further confirmation email via Event Owl.

Your payment will be processed once your application has been approved. If you have chosen to be in the Deposit scheme your remaining balance will be automatically taken 8 weeks prior to the event.This will be automatically taken from the card presented at the time of booking. Further details will be on the email sent to you by Event Owl.

Failure to pay the invoice by the due date will result in your pitch allocation being released and given to another trader on the waiting list.

Only those approved will have their payment cards charged.  You need to make sure that the details on this form are correct. You will not be able to make any changes to this form once it has been submitted.

If your application is declined, you will receive a confirmation of this via Event Owl, and your card payment details will be automatically deleted.

Your joining and set-up instructions will be sent out to you a few days before the event. (If you have not received this information by the Wednesday before the event then please check your spam filter and get in touch with Dowse events.
