Chesterfield Christmas Market 2026
20th – 22nd November 2026
Chesterfield Town Centre
Dowse Events, in partnership with Chesterfield Borough Council, are proud to present the first ever Chesterfield Christmas Market.
A brand new festive shopping experience set to transform Chesterfield town centre into a magical Christmas destination.
Taking place across three exciting days on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November 2026, this spectacular new event will coincide with the hugely popular Chesterfield Christmas Lights Switch-On on Sunday, which alone attracts over 50,000 visitors each year. With the addition of the new Christmas Market, a major entertainment programme and a significant shared marketing campaign between Dowse Events and Chesterfield Borough Council, we anticipate welcoming 100,000+ visitors across the weekend.
Visitors can expect a truly festive atmosphere featuring:
- Live music performances
- Street entertainers and performers
- Traditional fairground rides
- A festive tipi bar
- Christmas attractions and activities
- Independent shopping and artisan traders
- Incredible Christmas Lights Switch-On celebrations on Sunday evening
Festive Expectations
To help create a truly magical visitor experience, all traders will be expected to dress and decorate their stalls in a festive Christmas theme. We also strongly encourage traders and staff to wear festive attire throughout the event.
To add to the fun, we will be awarding cash prizes for the three best dressed stalls across the weekend.
